Dr. R. Louise Smyth is a board-certified Family Practice physician who has been in practice in Wisconsin since 1995. She was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in western Canada where she obtained her undergraduate degree in biology. She received her medical degree at the University of Calgary School of Medicine and completed her Family Practice Residency at the Plains Health Center in Regina, Saskatchewan. She is board-certified in Family Medicine with the College of Family Practice of Canada and the American Board of Family Medicine. She and her family moved from Alberta, Canada in 1995 where she spent 4 years at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca and then through 2015 at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital working in Emergency and Urgent Care. In 1999 she obtained training in Natural Procreative (NaPro) Technology at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. In 2000 she founded the Ministry Fertility Care Center which expanded to the Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital Center for NaPro Technology and Functional Medicine in 2013. She is a certified Fertility Care Medical Consultant with the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals. In 2006 she was joined by Dr. Kimberly Couri with whom she co-founded the Couri & Smyth Health For Life Medical Center in November 2015.
Dr. Smyth and her husband have 5 sons. They have been active in their community, church, local area sports, Suzuki music program, church choir and the Deanery Marriage preparation program. She enjoys gardening, bicycling, cross country skiing, traveling, and time with her family.
